Clearance Testing .

After remediation, before reconstruction — an independent inspector verifies that the work meets recognized criteria. That's clearance testing.

§ 01 / Overview

Independent post-remediation verification.

Clearance testing — sometimes called post-remediation verification (PRV) — is the independent inspection and sampling performed after a mold remediation contractor completes their scope of work, to confirm the area is dry, visibly clean, and within acceptable spore-count thresholds.

Arnold Mold Inspections performs clearance testing as an independent third party. We do not work for the remediation contractor and we do not perform remediation ourselves, so our clearance results are objective and defensible.

A typical clearance includes a visual inspection of the containment area before it is taken down, confirmation that all remediated materials have been removed and surfaces are visibly free of dust and debris, moisture verification using calibrated meters, and air sampling — both inside and outside the containment — for accredited laboratory analysis. Surface sampling is performed when warranted.

We deliver a written clearance report that documents methods, photographs, instrument readings, lab results and the clearance determination. Properties that pass move into reconstruction; properties that fail receive specific recommendations on what must be addressed before reclearance.
